PR enrols students as voters

The Praja Rajyam (PR) will concentrate on enrolling college students as voters. The PR leader, Mr B. Ra-vindra Kumar, told newsmen here on Monday that nearly 34 lakh students did not have the right to vote in the state. In East Godavari alone the number was nearly three lakh, he added.

In an attempt to help students get enrolled as voters, the PR founder Chiranjeevi had set up a graduate society to help students get registered. He said that 17,500 members had joined this society whose only responsibility was to enrol students as voters.

The PR leader said that they had set a target of enrolling one lakh students as voters in East Godavari by the end of December. Mr Ravindra Kumar said that the issue was taken to the notice of the chief electoral officer in the state and added that they had submitted a representation to election authorities to extend the enrolment schedule as well as registration of students as voters, based on the confirmation issued by the college principal, instead of insisting on residential proof.

He said that the election authorities had responded positively to the proposals. He said that the PR is going to enrol 1.90 lakh aged and 2.85 lakh beggars as voters in the state.

Saviour of sorts: Praja Rajyam chief Chiranjeevi at the ‘saha pankthi bhojanam’ on the occasion of Ambedkar Vardhanthi at a village in Medak district. –

Singannagudem (Medak district): Praja Rajyam president Chiranjeevi has said that he would be different from others in achieving social justice for the oppressed classes. Addressing a gathering before participating in the community lunch arranged with the villagers on Saturday, he said, “the community lunch organised here is the beginning of our long journey towards achieving the goal of social justice. Even a thousand miles journey begins with a single step and this was one such step.

”‘Different’ leader

Assuring that he was a far cry from the existing politicians, he said, “if I behave like other political party leaders, there will be no difference between me and them. I want to be different. I want to achieve social justice for the Dalits by following the path shown by Ambedkar,” he said amidst applause.

Referring to the conditions being faced by Dalits in villages even today when they are forced to clean the glasses in which they had tea, Mr. Chiranjeevi asked: “In what type of society are we residing. Is this the hi-tech development that we have been claiming?”
He urged the people to extend support for him to put his words into action.

Iron curtain

For the first time, probably, after Chiranjeevi started moving in public as a political leader, firm iron curtains were put up for the community lunch programme, which was arranged behind the public meeting area. Very limited and selected people were allowed inside. Septuagenarians Ramavva and Lachavva sat on either side of Chiranjeevi and had their lunch. The purpose of the programme was ‘to send a strong message to people that the PR was really committed to uplift of Dalits.

Pawan Kalyan to Head PRP Yuva Rajyam

Power star Pawan Kalyan, brother of Praja Rajyam Party (PRP) founder Chiranjeevi, is all set to head the youth wing of the party. According to sources, the youth wing of the PRP is likely to be named as Yuva Rajyam.

A decision to this effect had been made and a formal announcement was expected to be made on Sunday, the sources said.

Pawan Kalyan was selected for the youth wing presidentship as he had enormous populari t y among the youth, the sources added. ``He is an icon of the youth,’’ said a senior PRP leader, adding that Pawan’s role in the recent film `Jalsa’ had brought him an image akin to a Left wing thinker.

Chiranjeevi Prajarajyam Party Leaders of Different Wings

Praja Rajyam party’s farmer wing will be named as ‘Rithu Rajyam’ and Mr. Yalamanchili Shivaji’s name is consideration for this to lead.

Praja Rajyam party’s women wing will be named as ‘Mahila Rajyam’ and Mrs. Shobha Nagireddy or Mrs. Vanga Geetha or Ex mayor Mrs. Shakunthala may lead this organisation.

Praja Rajyam party’s youth wing will be named as ‘Yuva Rajyam’ and Pawan Kalyan will be its Commander-in-Chief.

Praja Rajyam Party has appointed its desciplinary committee with former union minister Mr.P.shiv Shankar as its Chairman and the committee members comprising of P. Upendra, C.Anjaneya Reddy, K.S.R.Murthy, Devisetty Srinivasa Rao, P.Karuna and T. Manohar.

Praja Rajyam Demands White Paper on Economic Zones

Questioning the sincerity of the Congress Government, Praja Rajyam Party today demanded a white paper on the Special Economic zones taken up in the State.

PRP wanted the Government to disclose how much extent of land has been allotted to the companies.

The party also sought know how much land is required to establish a company and how many jobs each company will create.

Speaking to reporters here today, PRP leader Tammineni Sitaram said that not withstanding AICC president Sonia Gandhi and Prime Minister Manmohan Singh’s directions that fertile lands should not be procured for SEZs, the State Government was acquiring agriculture lands.

People in the State were waiting for a third alternative and they had chosen the PRP, he said.

Former Union Minister P Shiva Shankar to join Praja Rajyam

In what will be the case of the first major political leader to join the party, former union minister P Shivshankar will join the Praja Rajyam later this week. Though Shivshankar's son Vinay is already with the party and part of Chiranjeevi's core committee, Shivshankar's entry may open the door for the megastar for accessing the latter's advice and help on many matters including political alliances.

Shivshankar - now 80 - will be returning to active politics after many years. He left the Congress party in 2004 after questioning Sonia Gandhi about her ability to understand the culture of India in view of her foreign origin. Analysts say that the entry of Shivshankar who hails from Rangareddy will help Chiranjeevi to garner other backward caste (OBC) votes in the Telangana region. The veteran had served in various ministries at the Centre for two decades including those of law, justice, petroleum, energy, foreign affairs and human resources.

He had represented Secunderabad in the Lok Sabha for two terms and Tenali for one term. Also a Rajya Sabha member for a six-year term, the Congress depended on his legal brain to formulate various strategies. "He will be used pretty much for the same purpose by Chiranjeevi," said a political analyst. His son Vinay, a surgeon in Apollo Hospital, left his practice to join the Chiranjeevi bandwagon, a few months ago.

Though sitting MPs Hariram Jogaiah and C Ramachandraiah have joined the party along with other political figures like former industry minister Vidyadhar Rao, political heavyweights have eluded the party. In fact with a view to forming a brand new party on a clean slate, Chiranjeevi has not been encouraging induction of political heavyweights into his fold.

Pawan Kalyan's 'Puli Gandrinpu' In Vijayawada

Just when the Telugu Desam Party have been reveling over the success of their 'Yuvagarjana' it appears that they are going to find more than their match in the form of Megastar Chiranjeevi and his 'Praja Rajyam Party'. Representing him would be none other than Power star Pawan Kalyan.

There is news that Pawan has already begun chalking out plans with the PRP folk and there is news that he has titled his forthcoming public meeting as 'Puli Gandrinpu'. The venue has been chosen as Vijayawada which has a strong share of 'Kapus' and Chiru will be addressing the crowd in his regular manner.

Estimates say that this will also be a thundering event bound to happen and the plans are on to hold it during the month of December close to the elections time. Meanwhile, Chiru has reached the end of his 'Praja Ankita' yatra so he might just want to review the whole situation before he gets into a biggie.

America lo Obama, Andhra lo Annayya

“America lo Obama, Andhra lo Annayya.” So said Chiranjeevi, as he unfolded his chief ministerialambitions succinctly clear when he claimed the US people gave the mandate to Barack Obama as they desired a `social change’ in their country.

The Prajarajyam party chief said just like America’s melting pot, which voted for the first-ever African-American president, Amdhra people would vote for social justice — the megastar’s pet topic during his road shows in the Telangana heartland. Likening himself to Obama, he said since the people desired social justice, he would emulate the US president-elect in bringing about social change in AP.

Addressing a massive crowd in the town as part of his “Praja Ankita Yatra” on the concluding day of his second leg of tour in the district, Chiranjeevi said a similar result was in the offing in AP, evoking a thunderous applause from the gathering. “Much as other parties chanted about doing justice to all sections of the society, it would be only the Prajarajyam which would usher in a social state where people could lead happy life,” the star politician told the crowd, drawing instant claps.

That Chiranjeevi bidding for the CM’s gaddi taking Obama’s name during the road shows at Vyra and Tallada has what made the yatra all the more interesting, sources said. In a veiled reference to TDP supremo Chandrababu Naidu’s claims of attracting the votes of the youth, the PRP chief said the youth form the fulcrum of his party. “They are the backbone of our party and we are going to face the elections with their support,” he asserted.

Referring to the absence of medical facilities for the fever-stricken tribals in the district, the PRP chief pointed out that it was ironical that in a district from where two health ministers — Vanama Venkateshwar Rao and Sambani Chandrasekhar — come, health facilities continue to be inaccessible for thousands of tribals.

“Public money is being misutilised in the name of Arogyasri, but the poor are not getting the required medical care,” he said.

Earlier, Chiranjeevi addressed a series of meetings at Tallada, Panukuru, Sujatanagar, Kothagudem, Paloncha and Burgam Pahad.

As part of his eight-day-long tour, he has covered as many as 26 Assembly and six Lok Sabha constituencies spread over Karimnagar, Warangal and Khammam districts, traversing a distance of 1,500 km and addressing more than 100 road shows.

The star politician wound up his yatra in North Telangana with a road show at the temple town of Bhadrachalam late on Thursday night. Sources said the actor would have Lord Rama’s darshan on Friday morning and later he would fly to Hyderabad by a helicopter.

Chiranjeevi trains guns on Andhra Pradesh CM

Amidst minor protests from Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Praja Rajyam Party (PRP) president Chiranjeevi today flayed Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy saying that he failed to get adequate support price to the farmers though he always claimed that he was ‘farmer-friendly.’

However, the Nava Telangana Party declared its support to the PRP and Chiranjeevi got a rousing reception at the borders of the Warangal district.

Addressing a series of meetings at Manakondur, Karimnagar town and other places, during his road show in the district, as part of the second leg of his Praja Ankita Yatra, he alleged that the ruling Congress failed miserably in coming to the rescue of the farmers.

The Sriram Sagar project (SRSP) is located in the district but people in villages have not been getting drinking water and farmers not getting water for irrigation. ‘‘The district could not utilise 30 TMC water due to the State Government’s failure in maintaining the project’s canals,’’ he said. He lamented that it was the farmer alone who could not decide the price of his produce while all others manufacturing different products could decide the prices of their products.

‘‘The Punjab Government is giving substantial support price to the farmers where our rulers pay meagre amounts,’’ he said.

Congress is in power at the Centre and in Andhra Pradesh and Maharashtra but the Chief Minister could not stop construction of Babhali and other projects in Maharastra, he said.
Chiranjeevi said that he didn’t had any intention to join politics till an year ago but was invited by people to serve them.

Likening the coming elections to an examination, he urged the people to pass his party with a distinction and assured first class life if voted to power.

The PRP leaders of Warangal organised cultural activities at Anantasagar, the entry point to the district. Women greeted him with Bonalu and danced Batukamma.

WARANGAL: Chiru’s yatra entered into Warangal district at 8:15 p.m. at Hasanparti mandal headquarters. He was given a warm welcome by the PRP leaders.

The TRS leaders tried to obstruct Chiranjeevi’s yatra at Hasanparti mandal headquarters demanding that he make his party’s stand clear on the contentious Telangana issue. Commotion prevailed for some time when the fans of Chiru and the TRS activists jostled with each other.

However, police intervened and sent the TRS men away. The TRS cadre tried to obstruct Chiranjeevi’s yatra at other places including Beemaram, University cross roads and Ambedkar centres.

The PRP president said that youth and women were the major strength to his party. He participated in roadshows till 10:00 p.m.

PRP leaders K Varda Reddy, Dr Lakshmi Prasad, Manda Ilaiah, Errabelli Pradeep Rao, B Sampath Kumar, Karate Prabhakar, Mandadi Ravinder Reddy and others accompanied him.

Chiranjeevi dares Congress to clear stand on Telangana

Of the people: Praja Rajyam president Chiranjeevi addressing Parkal road show in Warangal on Monday. (Right) Chiranjeevi with cotton farmers at Regonda.

PARKAL (WARANAL DT.): Praja Rajyam president Chiranjeevi dared the Congress to come out clear on the Telangana issue. “We said we are for a separate State. We said we will not obstruct formation of new State. We said we respect the sentiments and self-respect of people of Telangana. What more clarity do you want from me,” he sought to know from the Congress leaders as the people cheered in jubilation.

People continued to throng in large numbers to welcome Praja Rajyam leader on the second day of his tour in rural areas of the district. He addressed road shows at Gudepad cross roads, Parkal chowrastha, bus stand area and all along the road until he crossed over to proceed towards Regonda mandal headquarters.

Mr. Chiranjeevi was speechless on occasions and just he waved at the multitude of crowds who vied to see him in real life.

En route, the TRS workers sporting flags protested demanding him to say ‘Jai Telangana’. Irked at such protests,

Mr. Chiranjeevi said he was very clear on the issue. “It is the Congress party which promised separate Telangana. It is the Congress leaders who owned the TRS flag and come to people. Let us all question the Congress party on the issue,” he told the people.

Wearing a broad smile and waving at the people, Mr. Chiranjeevi drove past the villages and junctions as hundreds of vehicles followed him. The aspiring candidates put up a good show erecting huge flexi boards with the photographs of Mr Chiranjeevi and themselves at all important road corners.

At the Parkal, Mr. Chiranjeevi reminded the farmers of gloomy days when several of them were forced to commit suicides. He said lack of minimum support price failed their hopes and drove them to extremes.

He promised to learn more about their plight as he proceeded in the district. After crossing the Parkal town, Mr Chiranjeevi walked into the cotton field and interacted with a farmer there.

Earlier in the day, several leaders from the district and a group of doctors led by noted paediatrician M. Seshu Madhav called on him and apprised him of the public response to the party.

Praja Rajyam Chief Chiranjeevi Works in Fields

The Praja Rajyam president Chiranjeevi got a few lessons in agriculture in the cotton fields of a remote village, Rupi Reddy Palle, in the Maoist-affected Regonda mandal on Monday. For the first time during his yatra in the district, Chiranjeevi got down from his vehicle and ventured into the cotton fields, surprising the women farmers working there. The women flocked around their matinee idol and began narrating their woes. Ms Panchagiri Radha complained that they were not getting a competitive price for their cotton. She also pointed to the irregular power supply.

Ms Vannala Rani told Chiranjeevi that they were losing money to spurious seeds and pesticides. Mr Chiranjeevi blamed their woes on the government. "The suicides among cotton farmers were really painful. Is it such a big problem to overcome," he asked.

Praja Rajyam to Support Statehood for Telangana

Praja Rajyam president K. Chiranjeevi declared on Friday that if the Centre came up with a proposal for creation of a separate Telangana State, his party would unconditionally support it.

Addressing an impressive gathering in this town, he recalled that at his first public meeting in Tirupati on August 26, he said he would abide by people’s wish on the issue of a separate Telangana.

“I remember that the Telangana movement started from this very place in 1969. I know how important it is to you,” he said.

Mr. Chiranjeevi said: “If you so wish, make sure that your voice is heard by the powers that be. The only way you can make your voice heard by the Centre is by electing the right people, those whom you trust will do everything they can to improve your lot. You can trust the PR because the party was born out of the people’s wish.”

Ever since he announced the second leg of his ‘Praja Ankitha Yatra’ to cover three Telangana districts of Karimnagar, Warangal and Khammam, he had said that political parties were eager to hear what he had to say on the issue.

He asked people if they were backward, if the region lacked human and mineral resources and when they roared their response, he said, “Telangana is not backward. It has been pushed to backwardness.”

“Had the political parties shown a little interest in developing a backward region, your lives would have improved. Successive governments have taken you for a ride and used you politically.

Do not allow yourselves to be cheated any more,” he said to thunderous applause.

For the first time since he launched PR, Mr. Chiranjeevi launched a direct attack on the Congress government.

In an oblique reference to the Telangana Rashtra Samithi, he reminded people that in alliance with a ‘regional party’, the ‘present government’ had come to power after promising Telangana. “Four years down the line, has anything like that happened? The only development was ‘more tears, weavers’ suicides, illiteracy, unemployment and more,” he said.

As the crowds screamed, ‘Jai Chiranjeevi’, the PR founder said ‘Jai Jagityala’ and ‘Jai Praja Rajyam’ before his convoy moved ahead towards Dharmapuri and Ramagundam.
Starting from Metpalli, he covered six Assembly constituencies.

Chiranjeevi Stand on Telangana Baffles TRS

The Telangana Rashtra Samiti (TRS) in Medak district is in total confusion on how to respond on the statement made by Praja Rajyam president Chiranjeevi over the formation of a separate State.

On his second day tour of Karimnagar district on Friday, at Jagityal, Chiranjeevi made it clear that the issue should be decided by the Union government and the PR would welcome the proposal if it was made by the Centre.

While TRS legislator from Siddipet T. Harish Rao welcomed the announcement made by Chiranjeevi, party district president Raghunandana Rao said that this was the time for Congress to clear its stand on the issue

MLC unhappy

However, former MLC R. Satyanarayana expressed a different view.

“The statement made by PR president Chiranjeevi that they will not object if the Centre proposes the Bill lacks clarity. Why did he not make the స్తతెమెంత్

that they will pass a resolution in the Assembly after coming to power,” he questioned.
Meanwhile, the TRS will observe ‘Vidroha Dinotsavam’ on November 1.

Mr. Satyanarayana urged the people to observe protest against the injustice meted out to Telangana in the last five decades.

Warangal decked up for Chiru yatra

Aspirants book some important junctions in advance for putting up banners
They feature themselves more prominently than their leader Chiranjeevi
WARANGAL: The tri-cities – Hanamkonda, Warangal and Kazipet -- were decked up for the Praja Ankita Yatra of the actor-turned-politician Chiranjeevi, who begins his tour in the district on Sunday.

It was riot of flexi banners, and posters all over the city and all along the Hasanparthy-Hanamkonda route. Flexi boards were erected to all the electric poles and street corners.

Huge banners and posters were put up at every possible space all over by the aspirants of the party to attract the attention of their leader.

Ticket aspirants and the new entrants into the party were vying with each other in putting up the banners all over the city and leaders booked some important junctions in advance.

All this mad rush for the banners of all sorts is simply to get a glimpse of their leader, who passed that way, and get his recognition for their "active" part in the Praja Rajyam Party.

As there were too many aspirants for each of the constituency, it turned out to be a free for all type publicity show.

In almost all the banners, the aspirants featured themselves prominently if not more than their leader, Mr Chiranjeevi.

As the colourful flexi banners were coming at a low cost like as low as at Rs. 300 each for the big ones and Rs. 100 for smaller ones, leaders preferred to order hundreds of computer printed flexi banners.

Chiru all out to woo youth, women

Mega’ response: Praja Rajyam party president Chiranjeevi greeting the people during the ‘Praja Ankitha Yatra’ in Godavarikhani town in Karimnagar on Saturday.

GODAVARIKHANI: Praja Rajyam president K. Chiranjeevi on Saturday went all out to woo youth and women and drew their attention by telling them how he would improve their lot if his party came to power.

On the third day of his ‘Praja Ankitha Yatra’ in Telangana , he was enthused by the large turnout of women all through his tour, right from Ramagundam, at roadside meetings and till Karimnagar town.

At one place, he was greeted by flag-waving followers of the Telangana Rashtra Samithi and the Left parties. Acknowledging their presence, he conveyed his greetings to them and expressed solidarity with their parties.

He reminded youth of their potential and how they could change their lives and society for the better, if only their resources were channelised properly, especially in rooting out corruption.
Mr. Chiranjeevi drew applause from women when he repeated his usual line of how he was being termed as being partial to women. “Yes, I do not mind admitting that the PRP has a special place for women. You will find how focussed we are about development with women as the centre when we come out with our manifesto,” he said.

The Praja Rajyam president travelled through Ramagundam, Manthani, Peddapalli and Karimnagar Assembly constituencies and also visited a coal mine near Godavari Khani.

At a press conference later, party leader Kotagiri Vidyadhar Rao and Core Committee member Dr. P. Vinay Kumar dared Minister Sabita Indra Reddy for a debate on what the Congress Government had done to improve the lot of weavers in Sircilla and what the PRP proposed to do.

They were replying to her criticism that the PR president did not know anything about the weavers’ problems and that there was nothing in the party’s ‘Sircilla Declaration’ that Mr. Chiranjeevi released on Thursday.

Mr. Rao said it was unbecoming of a Minister to stoop to such levels while criticising the president of a political party that was already creating waves.

PRP sees no opposition in coastal areas

Party receiving good response in Telangana too, says K.S.R. Murthy
Probe sought into corruption charges levelled against Minister

Kakinada: The Praja Rajyam Party (PRP) is hopeful of making a clean sweep of all Assembly constituencies in coastal Andhra Pradesh and it does not anticipate even a semblance of a fight from the ruling party, not to mention the seemingly unending woes of the TDP.

The PRP would make its mark in Telangana and Rayalaseema regions as well with social justice as the main election plank, said its leader K.S.R. Murthy.

Sensitive issue

Addressing mediapersons here on Thursday, Mr. Murthy said the Congress lost credibility and the TDP was not in a position to emerge unscathed from its problems. The PRP, he said, was trying to drive home the message that it was prepared to do its best for people’s welfare with service as the sole motto.

The PRP was planning ways to put an end to hardships of SCs, STs and Backward Classes, which were deprived of their rights for a long time.

Asked whether the PRP would prefer creation of separate Telangana, Mr. Murthy said party president Chiranjeevi would make a statement as it was a sensitive issue on which the party could not afford to take a hasty decision. The PRP was getting a good response in this region also contrary to perception that film stars would not be able to sway the electorate here, he asserted.

Dharna plan

Mr. Murthy said the PRP would picket East Godavari district Collector’s Office in a week if the government did not institute an inquiry into the corruption charges levelled by Small Scale Industries Minister Gollapalli Surya Rao against his cabinet colleague J.C. Diwakar Reddy, by the Lok Ayukta or a retired judge of the Supreme Court or Andhra Pradesh High Court. He said it was not a private matter to be deliberated in party forums as the Minister was accused of being involved in swindling of public money.

Many MLAs favoured an inquiry by a sitting judge knowing fully well that it was the least possible thing the government could do to ferret out such stark facts.

There were few instances when an inquiry was done by a sitting judge in India except the ones like Srikrishna Commission, which probed the Mumbai riots.

“It is unfortunate that similar charges traded by Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy and Opposition leader N. Chandrababu Naidu in the Assembly were never inquired into at the highest level,” Mr. Murthy added.

Mega’ Arrangements for Chiru

WARANGAL: Elated at the public response in the neighbouring Karimnagar for the Chiranjeevi’s tour, the Praja Rajyam leaders in the district were making elaborate arrangements to accord a grand welcome to their leader.

Addressing a press conference here on Thursday, Praja Rajyam party senior leader Mr. C. Ramachandraiah said the ‘Praja Ankita yatra’ was getting unprecedented response from the public in Telangana region. “The huge turnout of the people in thousands at small towns like Sircilla proved that the people were showing positive response to the PR and its chief Mr. Chiranjeevi,” he said.

Many political leaders stated that there would be no place for another political party and added that there would be no place for actors in the present day politics. But the response to Mr. Chiranjeevi in north Andhra and the north Telangana has proved the critics wrong and the people were clearly supporting the PR policies, he added.

The PR leader was confident that the party founder would get similar kind of great response in the district during his ‘yatra’ in the district. Mr. Chiranjeevi would make three night halts one each at Bala Vikasa at Kazipet, Mulug, and Mahabubabad in the district. He explained that the social agenda and social justice slogans of the party were going down well with the public and they were showing it through their response during the road shows.

PR district in-charge Bommagani Sidhartha Goud, Mechineni Sampath Rao, K Laxmikanth and others were present.

Chiranjeevi Promises to Make T-Stand Clear Soon

The second leg of Praja Rajayam chief Chiranjeevi’s Praja Ankita Yatra started on Thursday, pulling massive crowds in Telangana district of Karimnagar though the mega star continued to remain as evasive as ever on the contentious Telangana issue.

The only promise the film actor made was that before he concluded his yatra in Telangana districts which will continue till November 7, he would make a categorical promise on the issue.

He, however, said he honoured the sentiments of the people for separate Statehood.

The roadshows in all villages in Karimnagar district were well attended, which came as a relief to the managers of the actor who feared the turnout might not be all that impressive.

People in large numbers turned at his roadshows and listened to him attentively. They cheered him lustily whenever he spoke of the valour of Telangana people.

The film actor kick-started his yatra in the weavers’ town of Sircilla where he declared waiving of all loans availed by the weavers and clearing all piled up stock by paying Re 1 more per metre of cloth.
He also promised benefits like health and life insurance to weavers, appointment of a special officer, a training center to upgrade the skills of weavers, payment of Rs 2,500 as pension to the surviving family members of the weavers who committed suicides, education in the residential schools for the children, providing meal twice a day to the aged.

After reaching Vemulavada, he offered prayers to Lord Siva at Rajarajeswari temple and speaking at a whistlestop meeting, he promised steps to stop migrations of workers to other countries and announced that a special cell would be created for those who are working in the Gulf countries.

However his tour was marred by slogan-shouting by the cadres of Telangana Rashtra Samiti. At Sircilla, Vemulavada and Chandurti the TRS activists tried to corner him demanding a clear statement on Telangana.

Chiranjeevi assured them that he knew the heart of the Telangana people and would do what they want.

While passing through Sircilla a hoarding set up by local leaders in which a child was requesting Chiranjeevi to provide free education to the children attracted the actor’s attention who later said he would definitely fulfil her wish. In another incident he called on a hundred-year-old woman to his vehicle and made her speak.

Chiranjeevi Videos Getting Huge Demand

With each passing day, Megastar Chiranjeevi is getting more and more comfortable with his new role as a politician and one can see the body language from the time he announced his 'Praja Rajyam Party' and till date, the transformation he has been through.

Given the current political tsunami he has been creating, it is heard that most of his videos such as the songs, the best scenes of his hit movies and many other sequences have suddenly started getting a lot of viewership and the regular surfers of the famous youtube site say that the videos are being watched like crazy with the hits it shows.

He has now started his second leg of 'Praja Ankita' yatra and this time he would be covering only the Telangana region. With the kind of response he got during his first leg, the message is clear that he sure enjoys some reputation as far as getting a glimpse of him goes.

But the real truth will be out once the polls are announced and the voting is done and just like any other film, even Chiru's fate will be in the hands of the same audience who will appear in the new role as voters to decide whether he is fit enough to be a real life star or just a reel life star.

All Eyes on Chiranjeevi Praja Ankita Yatra in Seema

After the Telangana tour, Chiranjeevi is planning to tour Rayalaseema areas in the next month. And all eyes are on how he would take on his rivals in the Seema, which is widely under the influence of Chief Minister Dr Y S Rajasekhara Reddy.

Especially since Chiranjeevi has announced his support for separate Telangana State, political observers feel he might face a difficult situation in Rayalaseema. Most of the leaders in Seema are quite opposite to Telangana State and feel that if the State had to be bifurcated, Rayalaseema must be hugely compensated. So, Chiranjeevi would have to talk about due justice to Rayalaseema region.

However, Chiranjeevi is heavily banking on leaders like Bhuma Nagi Reddy and C Ramachandraiah, who have been giving him advice from time to time on the issues confronting Rayalaseema. They assured that his Seema tour would be smooth and encouraging.

He is likely to begin his yatra from Kurnool, rather than Tirupati, so as to have a confident start.

Chiru Opens New Party Office

Chiranjeevi inaugurated new office building at Road No. 5, Jubilee Hills, on Sunday, this will serve as the main office.

The Praja Rajyam Party on Sunday became the first political outfit to have two swank,corporate-styled offices within two months of its formation, with president Chiranjeevi throwing open about 30,000 sft across three floors in a building on Road. No.5, Jubilee Hills near Annapurna Seven Acres.

While expressing his apologies if people felt insulted in the past two months due to constraints of space, the megastar promised that people would now have better space to work out of and meet, interact with him too.

Interestingly, soon after he inaugurated the new office, he told party managers that instead of covering Nalgonda and Khammam districts as originally planned in phase two of his Praja Ankitha Yatra, he would now tour Warangal and Karimnagar.

As soon as he said that, Core Committee member and ex- IPS officer C. Anjaneya Reddy and his team started chalking out a fresh schedule spanning five days but to be completed before Diwali.

The present facility on Road No. 46, will hereafter serve the purpose for which it was initially constructed for, as the PR chief’s secretariat, where Chiranjeevi will interact with members of the core committee and select leaders.

Chiranjeevi must adjust, says DGP

The actor-turned-politician Chiranjeevi has to adjust with whatever security the government provides him for his ongoing tours.

The director-general of police, Mr S.S.P. Yadav, said that the government will provide security based on threat perception.

” “There will be enough security to cover him wherever he goes,” Mr Yadav said. He evaded a direct reply when asked whether the Praja Rajyam or Chiranjeevi had requested for additional security.

Speaking on the Police Commemoration Day on October 21, Mr Yadav said security will be provided to people according to requirements and not according to request.

Chiranjeevi Gandhigiri in Real Life

When actor-turned-politician Chiranjeevi cut short his ‘Praja Ankitha Yatra’ two days before schedule due to a sore throat, his political opponents ran him down.

They ridiculed Mr. Chiranjeevi asking how someone who was used to air-conditioned luxury every minute of the day, thanks to his ‘reel’ life, could bear the heat and dust of ‘real’ life politics.

Keeps mum

But the megastar chose to practise ‘Gandhigiri’ in ‘real’ life and preferred to keep mum. More so, he was bound by his promise of not heaping personal insults on any political opponent.

However, his party managers were ready with a repartee to counter the megastar’s opponents.

Their contention was that other political leaders who merely rendered lip sympathy for people’s problems, did not need to really strain their vocal chords.

Praja Rajyam Dares Cong to Debate on Development

The Praja Rajyam Party today dared political parties, particularly the ruling Congress, to come for a debate on any issue relating to development.

Party spokespersons Mithra and P Prabhakar in a press conference said that State ministers were critisising the PRP party president on trivial issues.

They advised the leaders not to resort to personnel criticism and said that it is foolish to think that if some one loses his voice does not qualify to become the leader.

Meanwhile, party leaders Dr Vinay and Naragoni said in another media meet that a conference on the issues of BCs would be held tomorrow at Kalinga Bhavan in Banjara Hills.

Chiranjeevi’s brother Pavan Kalyan would address the meeting. BC representatives from Warangal, Karimnagar and Nalgonda would participate in the conference.

Chiru Praja Ankita Yatra From 30th Oct

Chiranjeevi will embark on his second leg of road shows on October 30 covering four districts. The Telangana tour is being keenly watched as T has emerged as a key issue in the next general elections.

Chiru will address meetings in Warangal, Karimnagar, Nalgonda and Khamman from October 30 to November 6.

Chiru’s maiden road shows were a big hit, going by huge crowd turnout.

TRS president K Chandrasekhar Rao did not make who will be his alliance partner in the next elections. KCR is making crazy statements with each passing day. The TRS appears to be in dilemma over alliance partner.

Chiru is expected to make his party’s stand clear on the T state. There may not be surprises as more or less he made his party stand clear during his first public meeting in Tirupati.

In North Andhra tour, Chiru focused mainly on political corruption, failure of the successive governments to solve the problems of the people and promised to provide a corruption free government if his party was voted to power.

In Telangana tour, Chiru may focus on fluoride in Nalgonda district and other local issues in the remaining districts.

It's Possible Only With Praja Rajyam

Pawan Kalyan said that the social justice is possible only with Praja Rajyam Party. He said this in the BC representatives get together today.

The BC representatives from Warangal, Karimnagar and Nalgonda have met in a meeting and Pawan Kalyan is the chief attraction there.

He said that Chiranjeevi has stepped into politics only with the inspiration of Ambedkar and Mother Teresa. He also said that the state population is looking out for a third power.

He also said that government should work towards eradicating hunger deaths in the state.

He also said that it is possible only with PRP. He also added that movements take birth only because of injustice caused for people.

Chiranjeevi may take Long Break to Praja Ankita Yatra

Megastar and Praja Rajyam party president Chiranjeevi, who abruptly cut off his "Praja Ankita Yatra" from Visakhapatnam due to sore throat, initially hinted that he would resume his tour, this time from Telangana, after Diwali.

However, party sources said it is unlikely that Chiranjeevi would re-start his Yatra in the next three or four weeks. Though the reason is attributed to doctors' advice to take rest, sources say Chiranjeevi is perturbed over the reports of clashes between PRP leaders and his fans at various places.

He reportedly told his colleagues that he would first focus on constituting the party executives at all levels, before going into public, because there was no point in being the president of the party, which has no organisation.

He is of the view that if there are organisations at all levels, then it would be easier to delegate duties to the party cadres during his tour. He also wants that sufficient representation be given to his fans associations leaders in the committees, so that there would be no disgruntlement.

He wants to talk to all the fans associations before taking up the task.

Now that the party has been officially recognised by Election Commission, it would be appropriate to systematise the organisation, so that the PRP could face the elections confidently, even if they are advanced, sources say.

Praja Rajyam to Expand Zonal Panels

To help district leaders have access to the State leadership, the Praja Rajyam Party (PRP) has decided to appoint zonal committees.

Though the party has already formed four committees, it is planning to revamp them and make some more additions.

Last week the party state leaders have finalised the names of district monitoring teams and appointed the zonal committees.

Four to six members for each district have been appointed and altogether 124 leaders have been accommodated. The party appointed six members each for the zonal committees for north Andhra, coastal Andhra, Rayalaseema and Telangana.

Senior leaders like Harirama Jogaiah, K Vidyadhara Rao, KSR Murthy, G Srinivas, T Sitaram, CV Sesha Reddy, Dr Vinay, Zakaria, Naragoni, Karuna, B Nagi Reddy, C Ramachandraih, Khaleel Basha, NV Prasad have been appointed to the zonal committees.

The party leadership wants to add some more members to these committees.

Zonal committees would act as link between the state leadership and the district leaders. Those district leaders who wants to join the party have to contact the zonal leaders. Zonal leaders will tour the districts and monitor activities like membership drive, establishment of party offices at the constituency level, etc. The district level leaders have to maintain contact with the zonal committees.

Meanwhile, party president Chiranjeevi today stayed back at home as he is suffering from sore throat and mild fever. Doctors advised him rest for three days. Party leaders took a strong objection to the remarks made by Agriculture Minister N Raghuvira Reddy that Chiranjeevi has to spell out the remuneration he took for the films and the income tax he paid.
Rubbishing the comments that all those who attended Chiranjeevi’s road show were influenced by his cine glamour, party leader Shoba Nagireddy said that people thronged for his road shows not just to see him but to express their anger over the Congress and Telugu Desam parties.

Praja Rajyam Refining itself with Survey Report

Praja Rajyam Party Chief Chiranjeevi has completed his recent trip and now Chiru camp is taking feed back from Uttara Andhra public meetings.

A private Survey agency is appointed to look in to the survey. The questionnaire is prepared with 7 questions and this will be circulated among the public to get the feed back.

What is your feeling after seeing Chiru in the tour? How do you rate Chiru's speech, do you like it? Are you satisfied with Chiru's local problems addressing in the tour? Do you believe that Chiru can come up in politics?

What are the advises you give to those who like Chiru? Did you find any mistakes in the tour, or Speeches of Chiru? Whom did you vote in the last elections? Why do you want to vote Chiru this time? Feed back is expected in couple of days.

Subsequent to taking feedback of the report Praja Rajyam would make necessary changes for Chiru upcoming tour . Telangana is likely to be next touring zone of Chiru once he gets well. Praja Rajyam Party is with intention to refine itself.

Huge Crowds Greet Chiranjeevi in Praja Ankita Yatra

Huge crowds greeted Praja Rajyam founder Chiranjeevi on the second day of his Praja Ankita Yatra of the district which passed through Gollapalli, Alajangi, Terlam, Uttaravalli, Merakamudidam, Garbham, Garividi, Gural and Nellimarla.

Addressing the huge crowds, the megastar said governments should be a protector of public property. Developmental programmes should not cause hardships to people but political leaders just did not care as they were busy lining their pockets. The PRP would fight against corruption and bring about a change in the system, he asserted.

"The PRP will surely address people’s problems. That will be the main agenda of the party. I chose this region to start my yatra as I wanted the blessings of the people here," he said amidst thunderous applause.

The huge crowds stopped their idol’s convoy at every crossroad between Bobbili and Nellimarla and urged him to speak, only to be obliged. Fans shouted slogans in support of Praja Rajyam while the most popular song of the party, Nenu Saitam Prapanchagniki Ahutavutanu, was repeatedly played at junctions.

N Lakshmi, a Chiranjeevi fan, and friends from Terlam said, "We came here to see Chiranjeevi." S Musalayya and others from Uttaravalli village in Merakamudidam mandal said that somebody should emerge on the scene to control corruption.

"We welcome Chiranjeevi, we will vote for him." M Sankaramma of Alajangi village in Bobbili mandal said her favourite star should be given a chance to cleanse politics and streamline administration.

The two-day tour of the district concluded this evening.

The four-day yatra of Visakhapatnam district will start from Tagarapuvalasa on Thursday.
